The business develops, manufactures, sells, and exports wear protection solutions such as piping systems and other wear protection components and its accessories, for concrete conveying and other hydraulic or pneumatic conveying in various user industries.

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all Human Resource functions at the manufacturing unit, with a strong focus on manpower planning, statutory compliance, industrial relations, and employee development. This role ensures effective management of shopfloor and staff workforce, compliance with applicable labor laws, harmonious employee relations, and alignment of HR policies with organizational goals to support productivity, safety, and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manpower Planning & Recruitment

  • Prepare and implement manpower plans for production, fabrication, QA, maintenance, and support functions.
  • Handle end-to-end recruitment for skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers, engineers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Coordinate with contractors for contract labour hiring as per statutory norms.
  • Manage onboarding, induction, and deployment of employees.

Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws

  • Ensure full compliance with applicable labour laws, including but not limited to:
    • Factories Act, 1948, Industrial Disputes Act, Contract Labour (R&A) Act, Employees’ Provident Fund (PF) & ESI Acts, Payment of Wages, Minimum Wages, Bonus & Gratuity Acts, Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments Act (where applicable).
  • Maintain statutory registers, records, licenses, and returns.
  • Coordinate inspections and audits by labour authorities.

Payroll & Compensation

  • Oversee payroll processing for permanent and contract employees.
  • Ensure accurate attendance, overtime, shift allowances, incentives, and deductions.
  • Manage PF, ESI, PT, TDS, bonus, gratuity, and final settlements.
  • Benchmark wages as per industry and statutory requirements.

Industrial Relations & Employee Engagement

  • Maintain cordial industrial relations on the shop floor.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and domestic enquiries.
  • Promote positive work culture, discipline, and productivity.

Performance Management & Training

  • Implement performance appraisal systems for staff and supervisory roles.
  • Identify training needs for shop-floor workers (safety, skills, productivity).
  • Coordinate technical, safety, and behavioural training programs.
  • Support apprenticeship, trainee, and skill development initiatives.

Health, Safety & Welfare

  • Coordinate with safety officers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Promote safe work practices and PPE usage in fabrication and manufacturing areas.
  • Oversee employee welfare facilities such as canteen, transport, medical, and restrooms.
  • Handle workplace incidents, accidents, and insurance claims.

HR Policies & Administration

  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain employee records, HR MIS, and documentation.
  • Support audits, certifications, and management reviews.
  • Ensure discipline, attendance control, and shift management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA / MSW / PG Diploma in HR or Industrial Relations.
  • 8–12 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy engineering industry.
  • Prior experience in a factory setup in Tamil Nadu is highly desirable.
    Previous greenfield/start-up facility experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with Indian labor laws & compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with Western or multinational companies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AI-enabled productivity tools (SAP experience a plus).
  • Ability to handle Statutory Compliance & Labor Laws.
  • Capability to formulate HR policies & drive performance management system.
  • Familiarity with the Income Tax Deductions for employees.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Full-time 6 days working in a week at the India manufacturing facility.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when required.
